The poignant memoirs of an American Jewish rabbi who was co-founder of the American Council for Judaism and the American Jewish Alternatives to Zionism. The book is a greatly expanded version of an article published in the Journal of Palestine Studies, vol. 5, no. 1 (Autumn 1975/Winter 1976). 

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Elmer Berger (1908-1996) was a Reform Rabbi widely known for his anti-Zionism. He was the founding executive director of the American Council for Judaism. He was an activist, lecturer, philosopher and theologian.
